Progressive Jackpots
Welcome to the world of progressive jackpots at William Hill Vegas.
Every player’s spin of the reels contributes to the same progressive jackpot, which can be randomly triggered on any spin or by landing a series of special symbols.
And the best part? Progressive jackpots keep growing and growing until the prize is won – meaning there are six and seven-figure jackpots waiting to be won every day.
Many of these jackpots can function similarly to a jackpot drop system, where a small fixed contribution is added to each eligible spin, increasing shared prize pools that can be triggered completely at random.
In jackpot drop-style mechanics, players may need to opt in and contribute a small additional amount per spin (for example, a fixed contribution per wager), giving them access to multiple jackpot tiers and the chance to trigger a random jackpot event.
However, to win the top prize, you might need to play a certain number of pay lines or place a minimum stake. So always read the game rules before you play.

FAQs
Why do Jackpot slots have larger jackpots?
There are essentially two types of online jackpot games: fixed jackpots and progressive jackpots. With fixed jackpots, the prizes remain the same. The prize money in fixed jackpot games is comparatively low, but payouts are more frequent.
Progressive jackpots, however, offer huge prizes. A small portion of every stake will go to the progressive jackpot. This will keep on growing until it’s won.
In jackpot drop systems, this contribution is often fixed (for example, a small additional amount per bet), and is pooled across players to fund multiple jackpot tiers, each with its own starting value and growth rate.
As a result, progressive jackpots are very popular because they offer the largest prizes of all slots, which often drop at random, and could pay out millions to an eventual winner.

How could I increase my chances of hitting the jackpot?
Each spin of our slots at William Hill is randomised by a random number generator (RNG) and is not affected by previous results.
While some jackpot slots require placing a minimum stake or playing a certain number of pay lines, no amount of time spent playing will swing the odds in your favour or increase your chance of hitting the jackpot.
The same applies to jackpot drop mechanics — triggering a jackpot drop is entirely random and determined by certified RNG systems, regardless of previous spins or play duration.
How do jackpots work?
Here are the two most common types of jackpot slots:
- Fixed jackpots: As the name suggests, this is a fixed prize that will stay the same and is usually around 5,000x your stake.
- Progressive jackpots: Every time a player spins the reels, a small portion of their stake will go towards a progressive or collective pot. The pot will grow until the jackpot is won.
- Jackpot drops: in jackpot drop formats, once triggered, players may enter a bonus feature such as a spinning wheel that guarantees a win from one of several jackpot tiers (e.g. Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Sapphire or Diamond), each with increasing prize values.
Wins can be randomly triggered on any spin, or activated by landing a series of special symbols, or completing a bonus round, so always read the game rules before you play.
