It’s no joke… You really have just won £114,000

April Fool's Day was no joke for one lucky William Hill Vegas customer - he's now £114,561.16 richer following his massive jackpot win on Pharaoh's Treasure.

But, given the date of his win, 29 year old Paul Gwilym understandably wasn't quite sure it was real! He rang William Hill customer services first thing in the morning and they confirmed that the jackpot he scooped at 1.30am on the 1st of April wasn't his computer playing a cruel joke and his 30p line on the game really had landed him the massive windfall.

Paul, who has his own business in Cardiff, won the progressive jackpot on Pharaoh's Treasure. His 30p line got him through to a bonus round on the game when, after 3 goes at the jackpot, he won the big prize.

"I had about 40minutes sleep last night, I was so excited!" explained Paul. "But it just seemed so unbelievable that I'd won, on April Fools Day of all days, so I got out of bed and called up William Hill just to check it wasn't me being a fool. But it's all true, and it's amazing."

As well as investing some of the money in to his blossoming business, which hires out ice sculptures, chocolate fountains and games to parties and corporate events, Paul is putting a chunk of money away to help him buy his first house. "This is such a brilliant opportunity now for me to expand the business, I've got so many ideas and have been waiting for the chance, and this is it. "

William Hill spokeswoman Jennie Prest said, "I thought someone was winding me up with an April Fool when they said our big Pharaoh's Treasure jackpot had been won this morning, so I can imagine how Paul felt when he realised he'd won! We are delighted for him, it's a huge amount of money to win for such a small stake and we wish him every success."
